About NPO Japan-China Photo Cultural Exchange Association

In 2007, the NPO Photograph Cultural Interchange Association held a traveling photography exhibition titled gJapan through my Eyesh as an event for g2007 Japan-China Culture and Sports Exchange Year,h commemorating the 35th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. The exhibition, held in 6 Chinese cities, featured approximately 200 photographs taken in Japan by 16 members of the NPO Photograph Cultural Interchange Association and 13 members of the China Photography Society.

This exhibition is a part of the Japan-China photograph exchange activities that the Association has been involved in since last year, and brings together photos of gChina Todayh that Japanese and Chinese photographers took all over China between June 2007 and April 2008. A Japan-China collaborative exhibition of the same content will also be held in The Forbidden City in Beijing, a World Heritage site, in November-December 2008.

China is brimming with energy and hope as it welcomes the dawn of a new era in the year of the Beijing Olympics. At the same time, the country is facing the rebuilding efforts following the hitherto unparalleled destruction caused by the Sichuan Earthquake with equal energy and hope.

The Association will continue to do its best to contribute to the promotion of further cultural exchange between Japan and China and the deepening of mutual understanding between the countriesf photographers using the universal language of photography.
